Access to the PAST creates the foundation for DREAMS of the FUTURE
Preserve, Interpret, Promote
In 2023 the Cultural Archive of Modern Paganism (CAMP) incorporated as a non-profit entity to be able to continue its work started with the Wiccan Church of Minnesota in 2020. Within our first year CAMP received two Legacy Amendment grants from the Minnesota Historical Society. These grants allowed us to dive back in to collecting oral histories and laying the foundation to make our document archive available online. As our second year comes to a close we stand at the cusp of bigger and greater things. The work to make our collections public is slow, and far from glamorous, but through our efforts we will continue to work towards our goals to better preserve the past and serve our community.
Current Projects
CAMP is working on two projects made possible in part by the people of Minnesota through a grant funded by an appropriation to the Minnesota Historical Society from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
Next Steps
We endeavor to expand and maintain our searchable database of cultural information to broaden the understanding of contemporary Paganism by both researchers and the public. To do this our work includes the collection of oral histories, active research on topics related to our community, and the preservation of its historic and culturally significant materials.
In Order to Grow
The purpose of CAMP’s work is to serve as a resource to academia, researchers, and the Pagan community. We currently are working to increase our ability to meet this goal.
